Have you called them to get a feel for their product/service/quality? I'd say...you get what you pay for, but $300's a great deal - IF they're decent quality. Guess you could be the "Highlander" here and let us know the result(s)...??
For what its worth, I was gonna order a set from another vender on e-bay. Most people spoke pretty good about them on this forum. After thinking about it, I decided my bike deserved better. I ordered a set of vivid black from Lakeshore. My buddy ordered a set from e-bay. I am very glad I ordered mine from HD. I feel there was a big difference in overall quality, paint and fit, plus he had to buy hardware seperately and there were no install directions included. For a few extra bucks...go HD, you won't be dissapointed.
Scuba is correct the glove boxes on the FF ones are not as nice as the glove boxes on the HD ones.
I also thought the vent mechanism was a little cheap feeling on the FF lowers but I added an extra washer and they feel fine now.
For me, they were a good buy ( so far ).... I only needed vivid black and the cheapest I found the HD ones was 530 + 60 for the speaker boxes.
If you can find HD ones for close to the same price, then I wouldn't hesitate to grab them.
I'm in the same boat now for a tour pak.... cant decide on after market or a true HD one. grrrrrr
Titched has a good point... I doubt anyone has ever been disappointed with the HD ones... Its kinda the same feeling / saying we have in the IT world... no1 has ever been fired for buying Cisco.
Well at the prices I will sell my lower fairings! Live in San Diego so it never gets cold enough to justify them. Even dead of winter when it's 25 degrees I still ride without lower fairings and it's all good.
Plus they're ugly as all hell and my 2 inch lever extensions won't work with lower fairings.
2006 Ultra Classic White lower fairings for sale! Perfect shape. No scratches or dings. Stock snap covers. PM me if interested!
Also have stock brake/shift levers and stock tour pak bar!
