Default exhaust help

I have a 2010 road king and I am looking to add exhaust very soon. I have spent several days searching the site and I have narrowed it down to vanes and hines big shot true duals. I know a guy who has worked on harleys for years that has a set off a 2006 road king. He has offered me the pipes, power commander and arlen ness big sucker for 500. He claims that the pipes will fit since the motor is the same. The catalog shows a different pipe in 09 and 10. Does any one know if this will work or not. Thanks

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think any of those parts will fit your bike. There are different part numbers for each item you mentioned for the different years. The 2006 had an 88 inch motor with a different size ECM plug and different mounting kits for Big Sucker. Pipes are different too. You may be able to modify the mounting kit to make it fit, but it most likely will not bolt right on. Hope that helps. On a side note, the MGS True Duals will bolt on all bikes from 1995 to current. We actually just did a comparison on our system vs Vance & Hines, if interested check out our facebook page.

I got the V&H Dresser Duals from the HD dealership special at 25% off with the Monster Rounds. Beautiful chrome, fit and finish. Quiet on the freeway but as loud as I'd want with a nice deep bark when accelerating. Personally I preferred the clean lines and wanted the left pipe to go under rather then over the motor.
