Default Fork Removal
I ordered my Monotubes today, how high does the bike need to be raised to remove the fork tubes? I have a table and a jack just trying to plan ahead. I don't like to raise it any higher than it need to be.

I'd say if it's high enough to remove the front tire, once its off, you should have room to slide them out of the triple trees.

If its high enough to get the wheel of it is high enough to remove tubes.

I did mine on the lowest setting on my black and red craftsman jack

I've read you should chock up the rear tire too. Because the bike can become out of balance on the jack once you remove the front wheel?

Yes, the rear wheel should be chocked as the bike will shift it's weight to the rear when you remove the front wheel.

Strap it to the jack and raise it about a foot.

Just took my forks off a few weeks ago to get powder coated. Strap bike to jack as stated and lift high enough to remove wheel. Good luck!

I did my forks with a jack made of two 2x8's and a length of pipe. it lifted the frame so the front wheel was off the ground and the back stayed put. very stable and easy to make. joe
