The dealers don't know.....they get their info here.
Actually we get it from the MoCo. We have been told now no Road Glide (Custom or Ultra) no RK Classic, no blackline, and the international market is dropping the XR1200. There may have been another, but I forget. I do believe the EG Classic is gone as well. No word on any redesigns or new models that I was made privy to. We will see I guess.
Well they droped the Road King Custom. 07 was the last year for it and not too many were made because of the strike. I guess the classic will be next, but there isn't that much differance between all three of them I made a go at converting my classic into a custom, and I'm very happy with the outcome.

Well honestly that's a lot of bikes to be dropping. As far as the RK Classic, and Blackline, I can see them being dropped. The Road glide and RG Ultra very bad move on the MoCo. I can see reasoning behind the Electra Glide Classic, but then again it's a good seller.....
I say wait until August, we will all know for sure by then. In the interim, I will enjoy my EG Classic....
Usually all these rumors come out during winter and are usually BS. However the rumors about the road glide have been showing up all over the place from dealers all around. My understanding is something happened to a tooling machine used in connection with the faring to the frame and they need to design a new one. That is the only reason the road glide is not available in 2014 but back in 2015. I cant see them discontinuing it all together, its too popular. Also MOCO is not going to halt production on a bike only to redesign a water cooled engine. Thats not good business. If they were to go that route they would be designing it as they sell the previous designs. Most of the time bike designs are a few years ahead of sales.
My dealer loves the Road Glide and really pushes them. He is very disapointed with the halt and doesn't have a clue why they are doing it or if they will bring the RG back because MOCO isn't saying. He is trying to get his hands on as many RGs as he can. so he can be a RG outlet next year when nobody else has them.
23 posts and stiring up the hornets nest.
RK ain't going anywhere. (the classic I'd believe)
Re-tooling won't keep the RG out of production. Nor would a water cooled engine. If the '14 rumor is true, then the '15 RG's will be released soon after the '14 bikes are released. Semantics.
Dealers are a lot like mushrooms quite often.
