I saw an ad for this and made one for myself, powder coated and all.The bags standup more on mine rather than leaning together as they do on this one.The only question I have is do the bags attach to the stand, or do they rest on the stand ? I made mine to attach to the stand. I got 4 of the female pin sockets - the same ones as are on the bike- and the bags fasten to the standjust like they do on the bike. Very secure and the bags are water tight when washing just like when on the bike. If the bags attach to the stand like mine do, and not just rest on the stand, it's a great set-up!
Would you guys happen to have the part numbers for the cam pins that hold on the bags ? I also need the female ends that stay on the bike {07 sg} I am building a stand for the hard bags too because I know one of these days someone will tip one over in the garage .
I built a stand out of some extra lumber I had.My stand is about48" tall.
The bags are placed on some steel angle brackets on the stand. The rear hinges slip over the brackets.I put black electrical tape on the brkt's.
The stand is great for washing/waxing the bags.
Cost was zero.
I have a set of those stands from bagger-parts. Sturdy, easy to use. They hold the bags on a slant, but do not attach to the stand itself. That's the reason for the incline. Yes, they r expensive (what isn't when buying HD related items!) and would have made my own if mechanically inclined. The stand also has rubber bumpers to protect the side of the bags.
