Default Medallion Gauges

I love the look of my silver Harley street glide gauges but I'm tired of moisture in them because our cool temps in Vermont. The constant wet and dry cycle ends up staining the inside of the glass. On previous bikes I just upgraded to the Dakota Digital and that ended the story. However, I really like the look of the analog gauges on my street glide so I'd like to stay with that. I looked at the Medallion Guages in the catalog and they look nice enough, but I really want to get some impression on quality from those that are familiar with them. I actually ended up seeing a set installed on a used bike at the dealer last night and they surprised me. They look much nicer in person. Much nicer. Anybody have insight on the Medallions? Thanks

I installed the Medallion Gauges two winters ago and have been very happy with them. The install was easier than I thought it would be. The only problem I had was I have a Hogtune amp. installed and making room for the extra wires was a little tricky but it was worth it. The reserve fuel light comes on when I have 1.5 gallons left, the gauges are very easy to read and you get rid of that air temp gauge. I have no complaints about the gauges. Wish I had installed them sooner. BTW I have a 2009 Electra glide classic.

I'm not understanding why you get moisture in your gauges. Doesn't sound like normal to me. We have similar climate here and I've never experienced moisture in mine. Warranty???

Nope! Dealer said Harley Gauges all fog as they are not designed to be completely sealed units. Fix is to park them in direct sunlight. Thats all fine and dandy but over time my glass lenses are becoming stained. Just like so many others I know, Not an isolated incident. I believe thats why Medallion clearly states in bold lettering "Guaranteed No Fog Lenses"

My street glide guages fogged up and so do a couple of my Road glide guages, never any problems with guages working correctly they would just fog up usually after washing or riding in the rain.

With that said just installed a set of Medallion Gauges in my Road Glide but don't have them fully funtional yet because the bike is tore down for paint. Quality looks great and the wiring harness is top notch for them can't wait to see them in action.

My 07 EG had the same issue. Not on the new one yet, but give it time I suspect......

I was just looking at gauges the other day and I think if I were ever going to swap mine out I would *want* the new MVX-8K gauges from Dakota Digital.

http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd888.htm

Damn those look sexy.

And they carry a price tag that's almost as impressive...

Not on my short list to do, but rather than go halfway, I'd save up for those.
