I have an 09 103 I bought a year ago with 12000 miles on it...
My Dad has an 08 103 he bought 2 years ago with similar mileage..
My Uncle has an 06 88 he bought 3 years ago.
All have which been ridden across the country in style and comfort!!
Mine is the Criminal bike, my Dad's is the white one, and the Police badged bike is my uncles!
Buddy of mine bought one at an auction. He regrets it and would never do it again! Didnt say want PD rode it but it was trashed in the electronics dept.
Well then, that makes your "buddy" the only cop glide owner that I've heard of who wasn't happy with the bike.
This is my 2 cents worth and I am in no way connected to my local dealer in any way other than they sell stuff I like buying. Harley Davidson in Bowling Green , Ky does provide the local Bowling Green KY Police Dept. with the bikes used in there Motor Patrol division. They trade yearly and usually sell the "trade ins" with average on 1000 miles. Yes, I did say only 1000 miles on the clock. All service work is done by HDBG and these bikes are returned to civilian life correctly. My buddy bought a 2010 in late 2011 with 900 miles on it. He has had absolutely no problems with it and would buy another without any hesitation. If you are looking for an ex-cop unit I would encourage you to give them a try if you want a real low mileage cop bike. They usually have one around. Happy trails.....
I have owned two cop bikes. A 09 Road King and now a 2012 Electra Glide. Love both bikes. The King had been used by a department and had 24,000 miles when I got it. Traded it at 54,000 miles and it ran great the whole time. My Electra Glide was one that was never used by a department and had only 54 miles on it when I got it.
