Road Glide Police Model ????
if a citizen wanted to order a police model for non-police use, would a harley dealer order one for him ? or are they restricted to police departments ? minus the blue lights, siren, etc.
i'll check that retired police bike site, perhaps they'll know.
thanks

PD bikes are not "special".
Although the 95, 103 and ABS were first offered on twin cam cop bikes, the "Pursuit" motor option was last offered on the Evo models, the "Parade" motor was last offered on Shovel heads.
Some PD bikes are emission control exempt- for instance CHP bikes are not required to have vapour canisters- although they may.
emissions exempt cannot be sold new to an individual, although they may be resold at a later date
So if a cop looking road glide is what you want, buy one off the floor and have it painted.
a real cop bike is stripped of radio etc and may have electrical stuff you don;t want or need- and extra red switches
traditional colors are vivid black and birch white ( my 88 CHP FXRP)- previous cop bikes came from HD in Silver 40's, 50's.
there are a number of great 2 tone looks out there- some PD's add the officer's name on a plaque or painted on the tank.
pride of "ownership".
Your easiest route is buy a roadglide, get it painted- the complexity of converting a FLHTP to a RG fairing is a high bar, this has been done by members on the forums, there are threads.
and you'd still be looking at paint
if you didn;t want the radio, you can sell it...don;t know if motorcycle resale value would work into your equation...

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
just hoping to get it in an easier fashion.
I've had a few cop bikes ( I learned to ride on my local PD bikes, servicars, sidecar combinations and then solos...)
FXRP after the cop stuff fell off:
