another dead tbw after ape install thread
ok so heres what i got goin on, its a 12 SG non abs non security. i installed 14" wild ones soldered the controls and used the 15" barnett extention with connectors as i saw 2 sets of the same colored wires and did not want this issue. i used heat shrink over all the wires and connectors before pushing/pulling them through. all my lights work and and all switches.
my cruise light flashes red and check engine stays on, i checked the code and got p55ptb. not finding anything on that code through a google search.
help!! please!!!!

sorry guys thats just the menu not the code, i actually have 4 codes
p1512, EFI forced idle
p2122, TGS 1 low/open
p2127, TGS 2 low/open
p2138, TGS correlation error
maybe those green connectors broke apart somewhere or somthing....

Those Barnett connections are pretty damn big. Much bigger than the stock green connector I've seen so many b!tch about. I bought Harley's SE TBW so I could have NO connectors. Also was worried about cut/soldering having an effect on current flow on my throttle. Since you went tall enough you can't use the SE TBW I say you gotta do a real good job of cutting out those connectors and soldering the wires back together.
Short answer is yes, I think the connectors broke apart somewhere.
Sorry to hear it is not going smoothly. Don't worry, it'll work out, you'll have saved a bunch of money, gotten to know your bike, and have some kickass bars.

You have got to have a short or wires mixed up. I had the same issue when doing mine and had two wires backwards. Soldier the wires to get rid of the green plug. Much nicer

Yup, that green plug has to go, it is very fragile and will come apart with ease.
Soldering is not a rocket science but, as said in the other posts, take your time, clean the strands before and after the solder and use heat shrink.
I also used a wire pulling soap (liquid) in the bars to make the wires pull easier. They are thin and quite possibly will break inside of the shielding and you wont see it visually.
Sorry you are having problems. As said before, chalk it up as experience!!
First time I had mine apart it took me about an hour, just to get it apart, now (after needing to adjust the bars a few times), I can pull it apart, make the adjustment,put it back together in less than an hour.
