Default Neutral Light

Well, just pulled bike out of the trailer for a ride this morning. Pulled it down from Canada, presently in St Pete Beach.

As I start it up, the neutral light is out, no big deal for now, I'm down where I can ride now. As I'm driving, notice my fuel gauge is not working? So after coming back, go to get my manual out of the trailer, "I left it back home in the garage", damn.

I'm thinking it's a fuse. Now also wondering, what caused that, or has it happened to someone else.

The beach and the beer called, will get at it tomorrow. But always close to help here on HD Forums.

Can someone tell me if they are fused together ? I'll pull the side cover off tomorrow, but would appreciate any help from someone's manual.

Not sure dude, but I would start with that. Sounds pretty simple like it could be a fuse.

Don't know about them being on the same fuse but on my 07 Ultra, the neutral light is connected to a sensor in the tranny down near the oil filler area and that sensor can jiggle around and make insufficient contact. You might look there as well as the fuse.

Simplest thing to do would be start pulling fuses. Don't know about the neutral indicator but my speedometer stopped before and it was a fuse.

On my 2010 RG, I believe fuse 14 (15 A) protects the instruments. Might be different on your bike.

Thanks for the support, this site is great for help, to bad it wasn't on our GPS units when we have roadside issues. Still having a few beers, and will get at it in the morning, will definitely let you know the results. As long as it lasts for Bike Week, it can go into the trailer till we get home.

Thanks for the replies, I have more trouble than I thought ! Not only was the neutral light and fuel gauge out, checking my headlight, brake lights weren't working either. No wonder everyone was blowing horns at me, lol. I just thought it was old people down here in St Pete Beach. Fuses were fine, I have no idea where to go from here, but to look for help ! Could be a grounding issue??? Need to find someone with tools and the smarts on these matters. What luck on this vacation.

Anyone have the part number for a 2003 Road King "Main Power Relay". It's located under the seat, I've been told they are a Standard 5 Pole Relay. I believe that's the issue on my bike. Heading to the dealer tomorrow to pick one up in the AM as the doors open, appreciate any help till then,
