Default SG 2012 Saddlebag guards installation

I'm thinking about installation of saddlebag guards for my 2012 Street Glide. I can easily buy inexpensive guards only (for 2009 models and newer), but without any brackets or supporting elements. My question is... Can I use the existing stock saddlebag support to connect with new guards? I assume that I will need good saw, tape measure and some bolts and nuts, but is this enough, or i should consider to buy the whole new kit? Anyone did it? Should i expect any costly surprises? Thanks for any information you can provide.

I just bought new supports to go with my new bars, it was easier, and not that expensive..

Someone did cut the bag supports and just got the guards. Can't remember who it was but there was a thread on this not that long ago. Might try a search. I just bought the kit. Didn't want to mess with cutting.

I found the supports I need to do this on E-bay for about $75. I haven't had any luck finding the guards for the newer frame. They seem to go for big money as compared to the older frame guards. I wouldn't cut the stockers to fit in the guards as they are worth more as a whole than you can buy the correct ones for.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I just ordered new kit and will sell my stock later. I found the threads how to do it, but don't want to play with cutting, welding etc. The money i save is not going to compensate my time and effort. Prefer to do right way.
