samson pipes anybody have a problem with the chrome
I have a 2011 Road King Classic I have supper trapp kerker pipes that aren't loud enough for my tast. I was looking at getting Samson silver bullet fish tails 33inch. My question is the chrome any good on the Samson? I don't want to buy them and then they turn blue. I already have a download. Will I have to get another download? Thanks for your help.

I had Samson fishtails on my 03 Heritage Springer. The right side muffler was already turning color by 800mi. (kind of a gold/amber/blue) right where the muffler clamps to the head pipe. There were no leaks. Later the chrome on that muffler started pitting a little. the left muffler was perfect for the eight yrs. I had them on. You can get a less than perfect plating job on any chromed product. I noticed that Samson dosen't guarantee the chrome plating. Just the luck of the draw I figure.

Well if you want mufflers brand spanking new with rust on them by all means buy Samson mufflers. Then when you try to have them exchanged you are told in a round about way to go scratch because they only cover the outside by all means buy Samsons. If you want your brand new mufflers to look like crap from the back because of a rust issue on a brand new muffler by all means buy Samson. Did I mention these were brand spanking new?
