Default Heated grips with internal wiring????

Hey everyone, I was looking to install heated grips on my 10 RG Custom. I have aftermarket handlebars that are internally wired. All of the HD heated grips I have been looking at say they won't work with internally wired handlebars. Is this true or have some of you had them installed regardless of the internal wires? I know I've seen other bikes in the past with internal wired handlebars and heated grips. Thanks in advance.

I'm confused as well. I even called two HD dealers here in Vegas and they both told me the heated grips won't work with my internal wired handlebars. But I know I've seen other bikes that were internally wired with the heated ones.

I have heated grips on my '08 RK that are wired internally. I have WO518 bars and I remember when they were installed there was a little bit of notching that had to be done for the grips wiring

Well, I'm going to do the install next week when I get my daymakers and progressive monotubes. That way I can install everything at one time. Any tips or advice on installing the heated grips? The directions aren't very clear.
