Hi All, I purchased a Road glide last year and noticed it had terrible radio reception, I checked the connection from the radio to the rear of the bike where the antenna is located and it was fine, I then went out and bought a brand new Antenna from Harley. The bike still has terrible radio reception, anybody have any suggestions?
Interference from HID lights or certain amplifiers, bad connection at the radio--the connection breaks easily at this location if it was ever unplugged. Try the Harley brand hidden antannea.

I'll check the connection again but I've had it apart several times and everything is connected properly, I don't have HID lights & I had the reception problem before I installed the amp. Thanks for the input!
I went to the hd hidden antenna and that was worse thing i have bought so for . Went back to the factory long whips and used very light coat of di electric grease on the plug at the radio and at the whips . If you have the relocation kit due to removeable tour pack check there as well . Mine was dealer instaled at time of purchase and the cable was pulled out of the strain release and adapter connectors . Major improvement over what I had from day one but still not the best . Also make sure you have the right whip in the right location near the socket end of the whip they are marked . looking from the rear of the bike cb whip goes on the right side if I am not mistaken hopefully some else will chime in an either correct or confirm this . Good luck with it
The hidden antenna didn't work in my area nor did two others I tried had poor to little reception unless I was within a few miles of station and a great deal of interferance from power lines and such

Funny - The HD hidden antena was one of the first things I installed and I have loved it ever since. I have heard of issues, but for me it works great even when I ride in the rural areas. I do notice that if I have my ipod plugged into the cig lighter I will get interference - so i just unplug the ipod and the interference goes away.

Thanks, I'll make sure I go through the connections again, I may need to go with hidden antenna since I bought the Bad Dad bags & fender for the back, not sure the whip antenna has anywhere to go now, thanks for the input!

I'm going to try the hidden antenna, the parts guy at my Harley dealer says they work better than stock so I'm going to give that a shot. Thanks
Hope it works better for you than it did for me . I read that in most areas it worked better but my local area not the case .
I read somewhere someone I can't remember layed the whips down along the frame under the seat and tank i may give that a try today since I am going to have the seat off today will see how that works .

your parts guy is full of chit and only trying to sell you something. no hidden antenna, whether HD or some other brand is going to work better than a TUNED FM whip will..
