New to the forum, Need advice on how to boost HP
And add money till you are happy ...some of us just need to spend a little more than others..They wont steer you wrong.. Scooter
Eshaw,
I'm riding a 27 year old bike because it's all I wanted. So yes, I come from a different frame of mind than you and some others when I stated my opinions.
I personally can't comprehend the money some of you throw into tearing apart a perfectly well designed brand new bike before you know how it handles and performs. A brand new bike was designed to be rode as is. It's a matter of individual opinion what else you want to do or feel you must do with it.
My opinion is that after having rode both I prefer the overall performance of the SG.
So, from your comments, your opinion is the new Street Glide's performance is filled with issues right out of the factory and you have to rebuild it to enjoy it?
It must have been hilariously funny to have your wife leave you behind on her Sportster. Guess going faster than her is most important to you.
From your comments to me about my opinion, I have to ask "Are you a Snob?", because you obviously couldn't control the urge to directly dissect and attack my opinion.
Jim,
The OP posted he has 7 miles on it. It's my opinion he does not already know how well it performs stock.
So both of you know ... I'm happy with my 72 HP 80ci EVO and it's upgrade and updated performance I've done to it. It fast enough to practically take off without me and will cruise all day at 80 mph. And I'm proud I revived this piece of well built Harley history! Anyone can buy a new bike if they want. I can too, but I chose to own a classic.

haha! I did a bunch of reading research, and purchased the fuel moto "stage 1" power package, A/C power commander 5, and the jackpot slip ons. The difference is I don't plan on adding anything else in the future, so this made sense for me.
I don't have it installed yet so sorry, I can't give you any feedback except it looks badass!
Good luck!
No contradictions.
Truth be told that a stock Harley from the showroom is perfectly fine. And it's loaded with EPA regulated items that could be change out for additional performance. Did I lie?
Unless you want to drag race on the road, Touring bikes do keep up with Sporsters when riding appropriately down the road. But then you must advocate racing on the road because you felt your ride wasn't as fast as your wife's.
And who are you to tell me I was judging someone about their expenditures and modification? I said I didn't understand it, mostly because I wasn't raised to alway need to be competitive and show off my wealth to others. But that's not what I commented about in the first place. That's what you wanted to read into it, wasn't it?
Next you want to attack my intelligence. Does that make you feel better too?
Then you don't like my ride so you have to put me down again with your verbal attacks.
You admit to being a snob, so was I wrong in how I reacted to your pretentious snobbery?
Then you find the need to once again attack my intelligence.
If you showed me you're an understanding human being with proper morals you wouldn't have been the first person since I joined here to lash out and attack me so vehemently.
I certainly hope you feel better about "putting me in my place".
And then you follow it up with your humble side in your very next post.
I really don't need to say anything more, the forum readers know who tries hard all the time to help people by sharing honest opinions and information, and never having to attack others to do so. Well, until you came along.

My apologies for "poking the bear".
I'll just move on now, and ride out of here on my "classic" outdated, underpowered, ugly, run down 30 year old bike".
Gotta admit it was good for a laugh after everything was said and done?
It's a new morning and a new day let's get back to telling this Gentleman how to REV up his new bike.
