Default What is this for?.

While sitting staring at my new fltrx in my shop waiting for the snow to melt, I noticed this large hole in the rear fender under the seat.. Why would there be an opening in the fender, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of a fender?? I would think all kinds of dirt and water would be shot all over?..
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure those are the predrilled holes for the bracket you install for a backrest.

I would plug it with a plastic plug....I will have to look at my bike tomorrow and see if it has the same hole

Harley doesn't expect the new breed of riders to ever ride in the rain?

Sorry, couldn't resist!

It's a drain to let out water that collects there because there's a hole in the fender.

Those are the holes for mounting the air cylinder for the Police Air Ride Seat. All touring bikes have them.
