Nope that stays. Unless there is something different with the newer bikes you can still use the quick detach feature. My quick detach wasn't a part of the stock shock. I also have to two point and not the 4. Not sure if there is a difference.

Thanks Chris, yes I have the 4 point, but a call to Progressive confirmed that it is still works. there is the second spacer (that goes up against the slip in sleeve, on the frame side) that makes the space for the QD to work.

Im putting them on tomorrow! any hints welcome

I just installed the 444 last month. The bushings can be tough to get in. I actually filed the leading edge to a slight bevel, oiled it, and went to the vice wraped with a rag not to scratch them. Good luck, their usually "goot and tight". OH yea , dang they ride nice...

I used the bushing (sleeve) that goes inside and then then metal washer. I couldn't tell if I used the plastic spacer. I don't think I did. I put the sleeve in the freezer overnight and it slid right in!

Sounds like you got it. The tan rubber thing you asked about is the bump stop and it needs to stay where it is. Happy trails

I know this is an old thread but it shows everything I have a question about...

When mounting the shocks, does the (#3) washer go in between the shouldered sleeve (#1) and the motorcycle- or does it replace the factory flat washer between the lock washer and the shock?

Called Progressives tech line. He said on the baggers, the #3 washers are not needed. The shouldered sleeve goes against the motorcycle and the stock bolt, lock washer and flat washer are reused on the outer portion. Just incase anyone runs into this again...
