Default Docking question

I have a 2009 road king classic, just recently got it, I looking at the docking kits for the bike to put a back rest on it. I've seen the four point and the two point kits, I just want to ride my girl around with a back rest, I don't need a tour pack or any thing like that, question is can I use the two point kit and is there a certain back rest that goes with the two point or does any quick release back rest fit both kits?

A back rest will work with 2 or 4 point kits. If you want a luggage rack, you'll need a 4 point kit.

Two point is all you need for a back rest. The mount for the top bolt of the rear shock is the other mounting point for the back rest.If you want to add a luggage rack or tour pack you would need four point.

There is two sissy bars available from Harley, a tall and a short, then you pick a pad to use.

If you have a solo seat won't the chopped tour pack work with the 2-point docking kit? Maybe the regular tour pack too, but since I don't have either one maybe someone with first hand knowledge will confirm this.

If you just want to mount a backrest you will only need the 2 point docking system. The front of the backrest mounts just above your shocks, you will see a groove to slide it in.

Default Two / Four Point

Got the two point on my SG
I kinda wish I would of got the four point now...
We'd like to have a rack & backrest for a up & coming trip we're planning.
Take it from me. With the two point, you'll be limited.
I ride solo 85% of the time so I'm not devastated.

With the 4 point you can also ad the luggage racks with the sissy bar.

You can use the two point dock, But, go for the four point, you will in time need it.

Thank you for the advise, I ride solo 90% of the time but there are a few bars I would like to take her to. Looks like a two point and back rest for my RKC.
