trailering
anybody mount the hf stand and wheel chock in a trailer? was wondering if i should leave the plastic little shoes on the support bar when mounted to trailer floor, doesn't seem like you should. i know if you take them off on the concrete floor in the garage it really slides around alot and is not safe. if you take them off the chock sits flat on the ground ,this seems to be the way to go if your mounting it to floor. just wondering what others have done.
I have a 7X12 enclosed tandem axle trailer and have used it twice going to Daytona Bike Week. I use 2 sets of soft ties for the front of the bike. I try to put a pair on my triple tree and on the frame in front. I have also used the handlebars as a last resort because of no other place to tie down. Do not over compress front shocks. Use 2 pair in case one malfunctions although I have only use one pair at times. I do use heavy duty ratchet straps. I also strap the back end down also to prevent hopping, etc. Those are tied to a passenger floorboard or frame under bike. I have used smaller straps on the back. Imo, Condor chocks are great. I have 2. One for my chopper and other for my 08 Street Glide. I travel alot by myself and I can run my bike up onto the chock and it sits there for me so I can tie it down. Every time I stop for gas or restroom break I check to make sure everything is still tight.
Enjoy your trip.
