Default TourPak rack install

I'm headed for the dealer on Monday for 10000 mile service. I'd like to get a rack for the TourPak on my EGC. I'm considering the airwing but was wondering how hard it is to hook up the lights. It's probably pretty easy but I'm not very experienced with wiring. Dealer told me $100 just to install the basic rack. No lights. I think I can get it square on my own. (measure twice, drill once) Just wondering about the wiring. Thanks.

online dealers will often get you 20% discount and free shipping no tax. instructions and template are included, wiring is easier than drilling, you may need another harness or adapter. I put a color matched pac on the RKC pictured, airwing rack/lights, side lights and spoiler/lights. If you do have them do it, make sure you and the service manager examine yours for any scratches before they touch it and take pictures if you feel uneasy. scares me to let anyone have a drill near my bike. The only scratch after 10K miles on mine the dealer done before delivery.

Installed one on my Ultra. Light kit comes with all wiring harnesses needed. simple plug and play. Use painters tape to mask area were you will drill into the lid. Use a smaller drill bit first, then go back with the size required. Spend that 100.00 on some more bling. Just recently did a Custom Dynamics overhaul on the bike and switched to smoked lenses. Now I have to buy a new smoked light for the Airwing.

This is what I did on my old bike. I got the top covered with masking tape in the area to drill. Got 4 replacement bolts the same size, cut the bolt heads off and sharpened to a point like a pencil. Screwed them into the rack with the point exposed. Lined it up and pressed into the tape making 4 pilot indentions. Drilled my holes slowly and it lined up perfectly. Pull out the sharpened screws and installed the rack with correct hardware.

Okay, sounds like I'll do the install myself. I like the idea of using the cut off bolts for markers, but without access to a lathe I'm not sure how I could get dead center with the points. If the wiring is plug and play even I should be able to handle it.

Thanks again.

I also used painters tape. Put a big square of the tape where each leg goes to give you some wiggle room. I then put the rack on the tour pak and eye balled and measured until I felt comfortable. Then draw a line around each of the legs. Remove the rack and use the drill and place the drill bit in the center of the circle. Drill away. As far as the wiring goes I pulled the wires individually instead of all at once. Instructions are pretty good on making the connections. I also put a little silicone sealant inside and outside.
