Unless this bike has had O2 sensors installed he won't be able to do autotune basic. It is an '06 model, only the Dynas had O2 sensors from the factory that year model.

You do know that adding the Auto Tune with broadband 18mm sensors only works when running in Auto tune pro mode. It only makes changes to the tuning map. It doesn't work while normal running. It will still tune the map from high to low rpm.

I have been told that most tuners work this way. I've heard of technicians that remove the O2 sensors from Tmax when they get the tune correct. I would guess that one of the only ones that tunes while riding is RevPerf's EMS. I tried it and did not like it. Since it has to be sent in to be programmed, if it is not in range you can't change it and the one I had was not in range. They probably lost money on shipping it back and forth. I know that this is rare or at least hasn't been reported often.
Basically, with the PV, when you reach the point where you feel your tune is right you can remove the O2 sensors and plug the exhaust ports. The MAP sensor will take care of changes in altitude and barometric pressure. Since you are flashing the stock ECM I guess you could reinstall the stock narrow band O2 sensors, but if you're running richer than 14.2 afr I don't see where it would do anything for the tune.

I like the narrow band O2's in the cruise area and they are not needed other places. They operate from idle to about 3000 rpm and around 40% load. I turn them off in the idle and off idle area by changing the setting to below .981. I think it keeps the idle more consistent. I found when running the Auto tune on a PCV if you change the range to where it can't change but 10 points it works better. 20 which is default was too much. I do agree once you get one tuned you really don't need the O2's. They do help with economy some. Also the adaptive learning will continue to work with them on. You can turn them off by either in the software or by changing the Lambda to less than .981. No need to remove them.
