I just changed my rear footboard mounts to chrome and cant get the rubbers back on correctly first what is trick to mount the rubber section near dowel pins that hold the main footboard on i can get the rubber nipples in with some soap but doesnt seem like i got the part closest to bike in correctly any tricks ty

 

Liquid soap, silicone spray, etc, towel and a rubber mallet....

Spray/coat rubber nips, towel to protect the board insert and whack it with the mallet...

Worked for me.....
