Were you simply changing the seals to begin with? Or, as I asked (aksed LOL!) earlier, did you have a problem with the starter before you changed the seals?
I still say, that if the starter was OK before the work, it almost has to be something you did. Not dissin yer work, it could happen to everyone. Even 'professionals' and Certified HD techs, at one time or another...
As far as I know there was nothing wrong with the bike before I started besides the oil leaks. I'm sure it was something I did, it's just trying to find it. the only thing I'm not solid on was the jackshaft/starter stack. Everything fell out of the baggie I had the parts in and thought it was an easy stack!!!! That'll teach me to take the shortcut and not look it up!!!!

Just so you know, the only problem I have ever successfully diagnosed is "replace the key fob battery". Have you tried that?
