I was on a trip last year when my voltage regulator went out. One of my riding buddies asked if I had my tuner with me. After I told him I didn't he said "Man I wouldn't travel with out it. What are you going to do if for some reason your tune gets screwed up?"
I would think the only way my tune would get screwed up is if my ECM went bad. If I had to replace my ECM the power Vision wouldn't work anyway. Unless I could get access to a computer with the PV software and could get a hold of DynoJet to purchase another license.
Mine's always been in my saddlebag protected in the Zumo case but I' just dabbed a bracket to mount it to the top center of the fairing to keep an eye on my new FM107 build once I finish it up. I already had holes there from a previous Zumo mount I made before using Harley's fairing mount. Whenever I remove it, I'll just use the little "plugs" from Home Depot.
i carry it with me. i bought a set of the tether pouches for the saddlebags and it rides in there, safe and secure. if i pop a dtc code, i can look it up. if a buddy has a code, i can look it up for him. if i want to change maps to a more economical/higher power map, i can do that easily and quickly. then i can change back just as quick.
