Since you seem to be more upset about this than alot of folks maybe you can email PC as well. The more complaints they get the better in possibly getting this resolved.
Im not that upset, just think its a shame they have known about this since 05 and havent addressed it, but I called jamie and they are closed today and won't be back till monday. Will try him then.
ok so out of curiouslty i just tried something, my bike starts slow if i turn the key on, flip the run switch, wait for the engine light, then hit the starter.
so i tried this
turn theing. on
flipped the run switch
waited for the light to go out (like everyone has been told to do, by their stealer)
THEN TURNED THE RUN SWITCH (not the ignition) OFF THEN BACK ON (notice it doesnt prime again)
hit the starter and it fired right up, no lag.
go figure
Too cold in Connecticut totry this, but if it works, solves the problem?
Just so I am clear, the negative talk from the dealers are the SAME dealers that talked negative about synthetic oil too until HD came with their own brand, then it was OK?
ORIGINAL: gnaz
If I had to do it all over again...... I wouldn't put on a FM other than the Screaming Eagle.. Too much negative talk from dealers if not HD Race tuner. I have a PC III usb. I have had it dyno'd. It ran out at 75tq and about 75hp. I have Rinehart true duals and I can tell the back cyclinder has ran so hot that it has melted my Hottopper head bolt covers and has the back header WAY past blueing to the point were it looks as if it's been glowing redhot for about a foot off the head.Next time I will buy an HD model with a110" or bigger motor and have it over with.
Most dont sell the PCIII, so they dont promote its use, they sell the SERT which is nothing but a download program that they can buy as they need it online from harley at a much greater profit than a hard part they would have to stock. Its no different than any companie wanting you to buy their stuff over sombody else's. Oh and their synthetic oil is low grade and not even a true synthetic.
I emailed PC about this last year when I put one on my 06 Dyna... the replied that they couldn't reproduce it. Since it does it on my 07 also, I know they lied and don't care as long as they sell them. My dealer sells them here... but at an incredible price so I got mine from fuelmoto.
My dad is an engineer. I'll ask him if it feasible to design a usable circuit to maintain a 9vdc (i'll need the amperage draw) charge for a few seconds that we could plug into the 9v location on the PCIII.
