Ok just got my cheapo trunk today and installed. Wanted to give my 2 cents on it. I got the Harley docking points and mounting bracket used from forum members here. The trunk was one of those 100 buck cheapos from ebay. I've never had a trunk before and wanted to try one out. Instead of spending over 1000 on full on HD stuff, if I didn't like it I'm only out 100 beans. And if all goes well, save up and spring for the good stuff. So far so good. For what it is, it's pretty good. It's a large as an HD king pack so space is good. It's abs plastic. The backrest fits the body ok, but the padding is....well....cheap but doable. I'm wondering if an HD backrest would fit on this thing. Installation was fine. Had to drill holes to match the mounting bracket, but that took all of a couple minutes. No biggie. Other than that, install was ok. So I'm pretty happy with it so far. We're getting a foot of snow right now so I can't exactly ride it to see. But for now, again so far so good. Here's some pics.
Now just waiting for that Canada trip I'm doing in the summer. Really test this thing out.
Funny you mention the front fender. The one that's on there is a stock RK fender. I took the trim off and found some round about ways of dealing with the holes till I could get a street glide front fender. Well I found a forum guy here selling his RK fender all blacked out. I bought it. Fender tip light and back of the fender skirt are blacked out. So I'm hoping to get that bad boy on soon as well. But I agree that the stealth would look bad ****.
I also have a cheap Chinese ebay trunk (looks like yours) for traveling. It is more flimsy and smaller than the HD one but great part-time lockable storage for cheap!

Not sure the brand. But here's the link to the ebay guy's store front. Looking at his listings I noticed this trunk I got is about $140 ish. Reason I got $100 was I ordered their "Chopped" version in black. But when it arrived it didn't latch, and it was blue. The guy I was in contact with wasted absolutely no time in offering me the larger trunk for an even exchange. Here's the link....
