PS: its on the left handlebar switch housing.
The first thing I think when someone flashes their lights at me is they are telling me to go ahead and pull out.

Exactly!
I have a little epileptic thing and really hate them Strobe type lights!!!!! I think they should be outlawed all together!! We did a study a Caltrans a few years back and found they actually cause target fixation, ie. people aim for them???

That's how truckers signal 'the go ahead' !
I don't think flashing lights is a good idea at all. I picture a wrecked bike laying in the road with the lights flashin'.

After being involved with close calls of my own, reading of close calls or accidents on the Forum or hearing from fellow riders who have had similar incidents of cagers pulling out in front of them- I am wondering about trying to install something to help being seen.

I am thinking about putting some driving lights on my engine crash bar and wiring into them a Wig-Wag modulator that could be activated by a handlebar switch. So that when you approached an intersection, or you see someone who looks like their going to pull out in front of you, you could hit the switch & get these driving lights to wig wag for a short burst to hopefully be seen & avoid an accident. I have seen a Wig-Wag modulator for brake lights, so I'm thinking it could maybe be wired up to a switch on the bars and achieve the same effect- wig-wagging the driving lights instead.
Thanks for your input!
I wouldnt reccomend any flashing at intersections! Here in the Bluegrass flashing oncoming or turning traffic is an unwritten rule your letting them know its ok to go! I dont do it, drive my ultra with passing lights on and low beam. I aproach intersections with caution, cars with blacked out windows always concern me cause I cant see their face or head and it helps if you make eye contact with them! I slow down when any vehical has tinted out windows just to be safe,as for flashing and confusing cagers no thanks!!

One of the top causes of Firefighter injuries and deaths is secondary collision at an active accident scene. All those big red trucks are full of strobes and all kinds of stuff and they still get hit. Ride like they are trying to kill you and don't worry about your attention getting diverted looking for some switch.

A great lighting accessory are Motolights; they mount on the front brake calipers and provide 50 or so watts of focused light, and LED versions are available.

Here's a link: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=44657.105

I've had them on my EG for several years, ride in heavy suburban street and interstate traffic in North Atlanta burbs, and have had practically zero issues with cagers. It's probably due to the distinctive light pattern; much more noticeable than the typical passing lamp/headlight. I bought the Motolights when I decided to remove the passing lamps.

Easy plug and play installation, literally. They supply the wire harness with a connector compatible with the accessory connector under the seat and controlled by the ACC switch on the fairing cap.

IMO, the denim black bikes are the closest thing to a stealth HD; so, I commend you for wanting to be more noticeable. If you aren't a slave to fashion, I'd also look to hi-vis apparel.

Instead of worrying about them seeing me i just ride like then dont and stay away from them, ride defensively or super offensively. It may happen anyway, but i dont ride my bike to worry, i do it to enjoy.
