Have a 13 street glide stock. Want to ad stage 1 ac and rinehart 4' mufflers, do I need PCV? Want to keep stock head pipe due to $$$
You probably need a tuner. A PCV is one of many options out there. Rule of thumb is AC and pipes, a tuner is needed. Just pipes, you can probably avoid it. People seem to love the Powervision, and that how i would probably go if i did it all over.
By opening up the AC and exhaust your bike will be running too lean. You will need a new tune. The PCV is just one choice of many. If you don't plan on doing any other mods then a dealer download may be your cheapest option. Notice i didn't say the best option. The best option would be a custom dyno tune, but that's overkill for a stage one. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Power Vision but no personal experience. I did have a PCV that came pre-loaded from Fuel Moto that worked very well.
I have the 4" Rineharts on mine and it runs fine with just those. I plan on going with the PV when I change the AC. The PCV would be ok but reading so much about the PV I just have to play with it.
A/C + Slip-ons = tuner. The PCV is the best of the add-ons imho but only as good as the map/tune. Most preloaded maps come rich (better than lean), they run ok and won't hurt anything. An autotune can help but a proper dyno tune is a good investment. Yes, even on a stage 1! Why won't ya want your bike to run properly? Didn't ya up grade the A/C & pipes so it would run better? Why leave out the most important part, the tune?

Hw does it sound compared to stock with just the Rineharts and stock head pipe?
