Guys I am new to HD forum. I bought a new 2012 Ultra Classic in June of 2012. It is black with a gray pinstripe. I really want to customize it and make it look sweet but I haven't seen a lot of examples of products for an ULTRA CLASSIC. Any advice?
1. Get rid of those nasty chrome saddlebag protector things, order the parts to leave your saddlebags looking free.
2. Saddlebag bolt kit.
3. Push-button fuel door opener that doesnt need a key to get gas.
4. Remove the heel shifter and install cap on shift spline.
5. Custom paint job, how much $ do you want to spend the options are endless.
6....or just leave it as it is and ride.
Custom paint will wait until I start to get bored with the bike. I had an 05 heritage softail before and never repainted it.
What parts are you talking about to leave the saddlebags looking free?
What does the saddlebag bolt kit do?
I would like to slowly spend money on my bike over the next five years but wife says cap is 10k. I just won't tell her lol!
How hard was it to clean up the front fender? Were there any holes to fill? What parts did you order?
Those apes look awesome do you have problems with steering at slow speeds? I hade apes on my heritage and that seemed to be a little bit of a problem. I was wondering with the bigger bike if that was magnified any?
Again your bike looks very nice but how is the solo seat for comfort? What brand is it?
Do your bare aluminum rims pit at all? Do you use any special cleaners?

Prevents your saddlebags from falling off, and thieves from easily stealing them. Look at Brukus, or search here, you can buy the nuts and bolts from your local hardware store for $10.

Have fun, go to a rally or swap meet in your area.
Just thumb through a Harley Parts catalog or a J&P catalog or any of the other major parts catalogs and you will find a wealth of information and it's fun!

The apes are 12.5 inch Wild One's, feels like power steering with them. My seat is a C&C solo with gator print. C&C makes great seats, customer service is excellent and they are comfortable for most of us. I removed the bumpers on both fenders. My shield is a 6' LRS w light tint. I am currently using a Motherwell rear fender rack. I clean the wheels occasionally with Harley wheel cleaner. That's about it for now on the mods I just want to ride !
Detachable tour-pak, relocate license plate and antennas, street glide seat (can swap seat and put tour-pak back on in 10 mins or less)
Remove front and rear bumpers, saddlebag latch reflectors and saddlebag rails
Smoked lenses all around (no red or amber on bike)
Phase 7 headlight (stock light sux)

First you have to figure out what you want the end product to look like then, hit all of the catalogs that you can find and go to the book store and look at some of the bagger magazines they have tons of adds for bike products!! Have fun and good luck!!
