Default Ok guys, some seat talk!!

08 street glide. I sold my factory 2-up seat 2 weeks ago, so now I'm pressed to find a good quality, comfortable, aftermarket 2-up seat. I'm 5'6-155lbs, and the girlfriend is 5'1-115lbs... That being said, you're aware that I'm in need of a thinner and narrower seat to help with good ground reach. Obviously the girlfriends butt doesn't have a pile of cushion, so she'll need some padding for the little bit longer rides. I'm looking to spend 3-500 on a seat... I know there's no end to seat selection, that's why I came here to get some good suggestions and hopefully decided on one!!! P.S. I want the seat to fasten just like the factory 2-up seat does.

Why waste your time with aftermarket seats?
Check around there is someone in your area that can redo seats . It will cost much less and you end up with a seat made to fit you and not some one else.
This one was narrowed down in front lowered in front and rear. To fit what I wanted it to do. It may not have a bad sounding name but will fit you .
Cost 100 dollars.

Default Mustang

I called Mustang and they wouldn't sell me the seat I wanted. They asked me about my inseam and height, reach to the handlebars etc and said the seat I thought i wanted was the wrong one. They then sold me the right one for me and the wife, and saved me $400 in the deal. Mustang has integrity.

Then,

The matching sissy bar back rest was another $80 and I said no, we'll just reuse the stock one - I don't care if it doesn't have the black pearl trim. The lady overheard my wife telling me to spend the bux and me arguing not to, and so she threw in the back rest for free.

I LOVE my Mustang seat - it's comfortable and sometimes my wife almost falls asleep back there - we ride a modified 2009 FLHRCI - the one in my sig, but I think the picture has my sheepskin on it. I recommend those highly as well - Merino wool sheep skin. Good luck!

You're too short to be riding a streetglide.

You & the GF are about the same size as me & my wife. My Road King came w/ a Harley Reduced Reach seat. Then I had it cut down by Mean City Cycles.
Positives:
1) The HD driver section gets you forward a bit more than a stock seat for better control, reach and comfort.
2) The passenger section is comfortable. It's exactly like the Sundowner seat. I know b/c I had a Sundowner on my last Dyna. My wife loved it.
3) Mean City mod was only $150 including shipping. The mod lowered me 1" and narrowed the driver section seat. I feel much better it terms of control and stability. So far I have no complaints. I haven't put many miles on it since getting the seat back a few weeks ago but other forum members love the work MCC does.

To be fair I also lowered the rear 1" using 12" SG shocks and lowered the front 1" w/ Progressive monotube suspension. Also did Heritage bars for more comfort; RK stock bars were a poor fit for me.

In total, the lower 2" plus the narrow seat nose make the bike feel much more
stable under me.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
