Diamond in the rough!!! Saving a FLHPI
nothing amazing to report. more grunt work done today. but we have visual progression rather than destruction!
finished prepping the tail section and got the rust inhibitor laid down. tomorrow will be color and tearing down the front end for the same process

so the rest of the frame is done and ready for re-assembly. i'll spend tomorrow cleaning up all the add on's and cleaning up the bolts, etc. hopefully buff the tins if i have time. then sunday i'll paint the tail section and start putting this beast back together.
also pulled out all the wires that were cut when it was de-commissioned.
really pondering leaving the front fairing off after discovering the painted head lamp assembly. looks pretty nice once cleaned up

finished the frame finally
cleaned up the hand controls
removed clutch cable, installed new one, broke new one and then removed it again (see motion pro thread). haha
ordered new throttle, brake and clutch cables for new 10" bars
painted brake calipers
repaired and painted battery box
and some other misc crap
also got in my replacement back wheel with a new tire on it. gotta clean it up still. paint will dry over the next 24 hours and plan to start making it look like a bike again on saturday. hopefully it goes smoothly from here on out.
thanks
mike
