Want to change out the stock rotors on the 06 SG & thought black would be nice. Anyone using Wilwood? Got any brands or suppliers that u think are good? Thanks 4 your reply/help.
I like my Lyndall Carbon Composite black rotors. Super light, excellent stopping power, and this lug drive rotor floats. The widlwood's appear to be one piece polished rotors that are powder coated so I am sure the black will wear off where the brake pads make contact with the rotor.
+1 on Lyndall
I have a chrome carrier but you can get the black friction ring and black carrier
Those are mighty pretty rotors. I presume you are using Lyndall pads as well? If so which pads? I just started running Z plus and love them. Alsp would be curious what kind of longevity you would expect to get out of the Lyndall rotors.

I just talked to Paul at Lyndall tonight because there is some disagreement about which pads to use on the composite rotors.
He told me with the composite rotors you can use Gold+ but they recommend Red+ for maximum braking, less dust and no noise. They have just come out with a new formula for the Red which he is sending me.
The rotors are guaranteed for life and the customer service I have received from Lyndall leads me to believe they will back them up.
This may seem over simple, but I simply painted my rotors black with high temp engine enamel. Just masked off the contactg part. Looks good, works good and cost $5.

I have the Lyndalls front and rear, its the model just before the dimpled rotors and the lug drive. Absolutely love them except my rear carrier has about a good 3/8" of lug slop, I need to get that back to Paul before the riding season starts.
Im using the Gold pads, tried the red on the rear (wrong part accidently shipped)and the bike actually picked up speed going down hill.
Matrix Brakes (REL Inc.) makes the composite rotors for Lyndall and also sells them for considerably less than Lyndall does. Lyndall does use a different carrier style and has a lot more carrier options to choose from but the cost difference for me on three rotors and pads was around $455.00
And you can get the carriers and rotors in Black if that is what you are looking for
