Just bought 2013 Electra Glide Limited. Want to put on 4" Rinehart slip-ons. Am struggling on whether to put on V&H Power Dual headers also. Will this make a big difference in sound/performance?
Hello and welcome to the forum. I have an '07 EG with stage 1 breather and Rinehart slip-ons. When I bought the bike in 2011 it already had the slip-ons and stage one with factory download. My Y-pipe cracked last year and I put the V & H True Duals on then the Rineharts went back over those. I can tell you I did notice some power increase as well as much deeper and throat-ier (is that a word?) sound. I lost 2-3 MPG's also. (Oh I also put a PCV on.)
You can do it now or you can do it later. I went with slip ons first, so I could hear the bike. Went with free flowing intake and pc5 later..big dif in performance. After burning my leg 2nd degree burn thru blue jeans with only a micorsecond touch one time each year for 2 years. That was enough for me. I decided to put headers on. Slight dif in sound.. barks now when I want it to. Didn't notice in differance in performance due to previous mods. The change in headers for me was to clear up the heat issue with the cat in the pipe. If I had to do it again I would change the headers when I did the slip ons and be done with exhaust mods. Welcom to the forum.
You may just want to go with pipes now until you get the bike broke-in a little. That will also give you an appreciation for how hot the cat gets and how glad you will be to get rid of it later.
If you go with both now, then you should also go with a high-flow air cleaner, then you will need a tuner to richen-up the fuel mixture since you will be introducing more air flow to the engine.
You see, plenty of opportunity to spend more money.
Thanks for all the responses. Think I will replace the headers now. I have already bought the Rineharts and the HD highflow air kit. Just waiting to finish the break-in miles.
Texas FB - the Fullsac X-Pipes look like a good (less expensive option). Are they good pipes?

And this is why I still have and probably always have my stock pipes. Too much $$$, just to switch the pipes out.
