Hey all, I will be getting a used Road King Classic in the next few weeks and have what I think is a pretty simple question. I am looking at a 2009 or newer model. I know that the 103 was available as an option in 2011. Aside from that, what other changes were made to the Road King Classic from 2009 until 2011.
The 103 was standard on Police Road Kings in 2009. Catalytic converters went into the headpipes in 2010. Helical cut gears in 2010 or 2011. In the 09's there was a whine in 5th gear. I would find an 09 FLHP Road King Police and turn it into a custom. I turned an 09 FLHTP into a street glide for 3K less than an 09 SG with a 103 woulda cost me.
