I really don't care how you dress a RoadKing...You just can't beat a RoadKing...dress it up a long country tour or strip it down for a night on the town...RoadKings Rule...
Typically, I like windshields. That's why I bought a RK. But the black fairing looks good on that bike. A tinted shield would look good too. I got mine tinted at a car tinting shop.
I'm a windshield guy, don't like fairings. So my vote is to get a windshield.
I'm a shield guy that believes you should stick with the stock look. They all look like a cheap ad-on that doesn't belong. That being said... I'd love to ride my FLHR with a Reckless for a few thousand before passing judgement on comfort, (buffetting etc).
I like the OP's without!

Leave the fairing off and get a shield for when you need it. It looks great without the fairing. Windshields are cheap on ebay. Beach bars would look great on that!! That's what I've got and I dig em!!!
I have a RK Police too, and, I was thinking about getting a fairing, however, I will leave mine the way it is.
In addition, I think, if you want a bike with a fairing, get a Road Glide! That would make my stable complete. Well... I still want a Sportster
I have rode days in the rain, bad storms including a tornado, 2 hale storms with no shelter in sight I will keep my fairing and stock height windshield.
