I don't understand why anyone would do this unless you live so far back in the country that there is not some motorcycle or tire shop within 20 miles. Just take off the wheel and bring it in. For $25 most places will replace the tire with your new one and balance it.

I have been considering changing my own too. Last time I took the wheels toan Indy for mount and balance. I recently read its easier to cut the old tire off, across the tread and use tin snips for last part at the rim. So getting them off might not be so bad doing it that way but I 'm not so sure about the mounting part. Have seen a mounting tool that attaches to a receiver hitch. Also think harbor freight or northern tool has them. Just don't want to start something that ends me up in a storm

No Mar tire changing bar and a home made stand to hold my rim. HF sells a wheel balancing stand I use, same one my Indy has too. I can change a tire in about 15 min if its off the bike already.

I guess i'll have to look into the whole prodecure. i always thought it was a pita to take the tire off and reallign it, but it sounds like many find it quite managable. someone should write up the procedure and put it in the "how to" section.

I take my wheel off and let the dealer change the tire $35 1 or 2 times a year would take me along time to pay for that $400 - $500 tire changer , plus my labor , if you do alot it might be ok but no for me
