I was working on my Bike today and notice that the sidewall of the front tire is craked around the bead and into the sidewall these are on a 19inch Agitator rim has anyone seen this? safe? not even a year old and 11,ooo miles on it...
I had this happen after a front tire replacement from the dealer. I had probably 2K on the tire when I started to notice it. Dealer replaced it, no questions asked.

Crap. I'm getting 18" Agitators and have to revert to Funlop.
I'll watch and switch to Metzler I guess next tire swap.
How -old- are the tires?
What climate are you in?
What chemicals do you clean / polish rims n tires with?
Just a few questions to consider...
H
I bought this bike march 14 one year ago did not get theses rims and tires put on till may I belive I had 3000 miles on stock set (tires and rims where part deal on bike) so dealer install so that around 8000 miles on this new tire......
as for storage...inside and 55deg building all winter.....I don't clean my tires but I do you wax and never dull on rims but I used never dull on my Heritage for years to clean spokes and rim
Its all over this forum and else where many, many people know and have seen this.
that what I thought I remeber seeing something a year ago and remeber it was a "batch" of tires but like I always do did not think it pertained to me so I payed no attention now i not sure what tire they where talking about.....well this dealer here in metro is not the best at taking care of customers I been down this road on some stuff already and took 3 people and alot bitching to get any kind warranty
You never know how long a tire has been sitting in the manufacturer's warehouse, or the distributor's warehouse or in the retailer's inventory before it was actually sold to a retail customer and installed on the vehicle. I have seen lots and lots of "new" tires which were actually over a year old. It is best to check the "born on" date before you pay for it if this is ever a concern.
