I installed wild1 578's and have a gap between controls on clutch side. I read a post on how to slip them up against the 1-1/4" portion but can't find it. Anyone remember where it is?
Thanks much..
I have Wild One 577's and experienced the same thing. When I asked if others had experienced this the answer was yes. Some had said they just cut a little off the bar to correct the problem. I just left mine like it was since it was such a small amount showing.
Onedownand5up, where did you find these instructions:"The instructions say to cut off a 1/2" on the left side or they won't slide up all the way". My wild1's did not come with any instructions on it. I have the HD Get A Grip grips. Throttle side fits fine but Clutch side has a good 1/4" gap.. Fugly!
I just did the wild1 bagger bars and had same issue....I wrote wild1 and was told the grip was the issue i then started a thread here to see what everyone else has seen ( thought this was my thread when I read the header) and was told to cut it also but the problem was i had gap on both sides and fly by wire would take someoine good to cut that.........so i went to HD and comared grips with the set I bought and what was on the shelf, dealer said they are all the same but something just did not look right when i held them up to the kyreyokin grips they had on shelf!!!!!the grip i bought from hd was a new grip they have in the catalog dealer again said they are all the same and blamed wild 1 bars........I prurches the kyreo grips and they worked great closed both sides up and look great...fuHD and your cheap made stuff (not saying kyro is any better)......hope this helps....sorry about spelling at work and no friken spell check!!
I have a limited with heated grips, the web site says.
Our bars are designed to work on the vast majority of Stock HD equipment.
The HD heated grips are shallower than the OEM standard rubber grips.
You may have to trim 1/2" off left bar end so everything butts up to 1-1/4" section.
