Default tire size

alright i have a 2005 electra glide. i have a 21x3 spoke wheel in the front. the tire thats on it is a 90/90. my question is will a 120/70 fit without modifications. the 90/90 just looks really skinny and small on the front under that big fender and i would like it to look a little more beefier. thanks

Should fit fine. Be better on a 3.5, but 3.0 will work

yea i was worried that a 120/70 would be too wide for a 3 inch wheel and didnt want to order it and it not fit. which would be the better tire between the two since i have a 3 inch wheel for the ride and handlebility.

The rim size is the internal distance between the rim lands, not the overall width, so you are right. I suggest a 120/70 tyre is not suitable, as it is intended for 2.75 - 3.75 rims, preferable 3.5, as jus2anoyu pointed out. You could have your wheel rebuilt with a 3.5" wide rim, which is optimum for a 120/70.
