I was using Amsoil and put about 4,000 miles on it. Had no complaints other than it's cost and it was very difficult to find in my area so always had to order it.
Switched to Mobil 1, cheap and can find on the road anywhere, and the first thing I noticed was that it was a little quieter with the Mobil 1. Other than that I can't tell the difference between the two.

This is completely not true.

Valvoline Synthetic uses a group 3 base oil, so it's not really technically a synthetic, and there really is no comparison between it and Amsoil, which is a true synthetic (other than it's XL7500 line that is). Valvoline's additive package is pretty weak, while Amsoil's is very good. Long drain intervals are Amsoil's big selling feature

I switched to amsoil from the harley syn3 stuff and i'll tell ya what... i'm a guy who is very skeptical when i read stuff about any product that supposedly does anything remarkable. And, that's not to say this is overly remarkable, but to me it was. My RK used to have quite a bit of valve train noise, harley shop told me that's normal. I said BS and took it to an indy shop, who then showed me that the cam chain tensioners were shot. (32k miles) Had them changed, but it was still pretty noisy but since i knew everything was good i just rode it that way. Local shop started stockin amsoil so i decided to give it a shot. Believe me or don't, but after running for about 20 minutes after the oil change, that damn motor is nearly silent. It's incredible the difference in noise after changing.

I changed to Amsoil after my Indy didn't (couldn't) stock the Syn3 synthetic from Harley. I like it just as well. I couldn't tell much difference in noise or temps, but I sure did going from dino to synthetic!

I'm a user and a dealer. I run Amsoil 60 wt year road in south florida. This by far is the most research and studied full Syn oil you can buy. I change it once a year. I sent a sample for analysis after I used it for over a year and it came back fully in compliance within specs

Really cuz Ive been saying it foams real bad since I joined less than 2 years ago, let alone how hard it was to get it shipped from Nevada...Ive been listening to people rave about Amzoil as if its excreted from the loins of a royal camel......but by all means put in whatever makes your feel better about your investment. There's a member that's been using cheep Walmart oil in his bike now for over 100k miles so use what you want just change it when your supposed to.

This is my 3rd bike running Amsoil. Not a single engine or tranny failure in over 100K on the two previous bikes. So I'm running it again in my current 2010 Street Glide. I like it!

I also add a little bit of TUFOIL. It's a engine oil additive that you can put in motorcycles and vehicles. I use it on all my vehicles and motorcycle. The only oil additive to be in the book of Guinness world records. I use to get 36 mpg on road king. After adding TUFOIL ,I got 41mpg. You guys should read about it. tufoil.com
