Default Oil filter won't fit

I'm in the middle of a project of redoing my 2009 Ultra, put a new oil cooler from Harley, which sucks because the rubber oil line goes over the Chrome voltage regulator.
Now the oil filter won't fit where it suppose to go.
I've spent all that money, time and now this!
any answers out there?
I will send pics, but am inquiring if anyone else has this issue.

I have the same set up and do not have any problem getting my oil filter on. It is a tight fit but it will go on at least on my bike it does. There are many others here who have the same set up and the filter works.

All those chrome covers take up space and make everything a tighter fit. If you really can not get it in, take off or maybey loosen a couple of the trim items and see if you can get it together then tigthen everything down.

I have a 2010 roadglide. When my jag oil cooler was installed, I had to loose the chrome voltage regulator cover. Now when I change the oil, it is two screws to remove the oil cooler(let it hang by the oil lines) and change the filter.

The oil filter can be changed without removing the oil cooler, but it is much easier to remove the cooler and have easy access to the filter. I don't want to take a chance on cross threading the filter.

I have a 2012 Ultra Classic. It came with Harley oil cooler from factory. I bought a chrome cover for it. However it doesn't look like your cover. I wonder if they changed them because of the problem you are having. Look in the accessory catalog and you'll see the difference if the two covers. I don't have any problem with the oil filter.

This probably goes without saying but, You are using the short filter? If my memory serves me correctly the long one is a 63796-77A ... I can't remember the part number for the short one.

Re-route those oil lines keeping them low then the filter will sit atop them when installed. I brought them straight back and then route them around the outside of the frame downtube and under where the filter will go. Leave enough line so as not to make sharp bends. I did mine years ago and the cooler actually came with pre-bent lines that did just this. I have since changed to braided covered lines and actually added another frame tube mount Jagg and all the lines fit well and looks very tidy also.

The HD cooler adapter (piece that attaches to the oil filter mount) is junk, mine leaked 4 times and I even had an o-ring groove machined into it and it still leaked! Plus the ugly oil lines coming across my chrome regulator cover looked like ****. I bought the Jagg adapter and couldn't be happier and no ugly oil lines across the regulator, the lines run underneath the oil filter like it should be. Also the filter is much easier to access now. Truly a quality product. I know it sucks, but just fork out the 160 bucks for the Jagg adapter and you won't be sorry.
