Default Fork oil experiment

After putting about 8000 miles on my bike the front forks were kinda spongy, not too bad but on big bumps two up it would bottom. So when I got the chromed lowers I switched to se heavy, way too stiff for me, I tried this for about 1500 miles, damm sure wasnt going to bottom it out but you could feel every little pebble and bump in the road. So last week I changed oil again, this time I mixed 6 oz of regluar with 4.7 oz of heavy in each leg, gotta say, works like a champ! supple enough not to beat you to death but firm enough to keep from diving hard on panic stops & feels really stable in big sweepers.I was thinking about heaver springs and cartridges but this is pretty close to perfict.

Congrats on finding what works for you; I use Amsoil Medium and it works good for me.

I rolled with the 50/50 SE mix. All SE was too stiff for me too. I like it now, even being lowered 1.5", it still rides good. Now the lowered air shocks in the rear.....thats a different story!!
