Lemon Pledge works wonders at keeping the black on the engine looking brand new. Its cheap and makes your scoot smell nice in the process :-)

I had the same issue last summer..then I rode for a day through west virginia in the pouring rain and it was all gone...So maybe just leave it and let it wash itself off while you are riding that beast...
