Good question about the auto parts store, I'm not sure. I've never noticed s100 at my local auto parts stores. The Harley dealer always has it in stock and it's available online. Pricey stuff though. Check out the link(s). The never dull wadding polish should be available almost anywhere locally. I bought mine at a drugstore the first time I bought it.

I use brake clean. Spray it on a rag and start rubbing. Then once the black is all cleaned, then the S100 Engine Bright, then shine up the chrome getting the S100 off.

I'm semi-careful to avoid chrome, but what gets on chrome, I just wife off.

I've thought about just leaving it like HarleyCruiser, but I've always wifed it off the chrome.... Always being both times I've used it lol

any pre cleaner that is used to wipe down parts before painting with a good strong little brush should do it. and it wont harm anything you might get it on.
