Default Jugs....One dark gray, one dark black.

While cleaning my SG I couldn't help but notice that the front jug fins were a dark gray and the rear jug fins were black. Is that common or what?

I've never seen that before, but I've never seen lots of stuff before. I think that could be an assembly snafu from the factory.

you need some S100 engine brighter. both jugs will be black..........now if they only had nipples. hmmmm

Been riding in the rain? I can see the front one getting wet and road grime on it while the back one is more "protected". Harley sells some spray on stuff to keep the black rough texture stuff a nice dark black. Seems to work well on my bike.

Time in the tan bed would even the color out on the jugs..

Oh, I guess this pertains to engine parts.

Ha, I had my bike almost a year before I noticed I had one silver front brake caliper and one black...chrome covers took care of that.
