If you want, you could ask the dealer if they will pick it up. I think mine told me they offer free pick up.

Not an option for me, AAA Southern New England will not tow bikes or RV's. I have towing through another roadside assistance, but also have it through HOG as well. But for me, just the discount I get on my AT&T cell phone bill from being a HOG member pays for the membership 5 times over every year.

Yea, wasn't real impressed with the H.O.G. advantages went with AAA they had a plan where I could add the bike. Every state is different so you would need to ck with them. Actually if you use their services (towing, motel/hotel discounts maps, tour books + other discounts) it's well worth it. I've had my truck towed couple times last year a friends car and my sons car, never a problem. Definitely worth a call to check it out.

I had the HOG Roadside Assistance Unlimited package plan. HAD!

The name Unlimited is a bit misleading to say the least. I upgraded to the Unlimited plan thinking it meant something. Should have read the fine print!

The one and only time I ever needed a tow was a Sunday evening. Waiting on hold for a human to talk with took painfully long, and the worst was yet to come.

All I needed was an 18 mile tow home that would never happen.

The policy - All tows must go directly to a Dealer, period!
Even though the Dealer was closed, and the opposite way of my house, it had to go there I was told. They would store my bike at the tow shop overnight and drop it off the following day.

I almost lost my mind explaining that I paid good money for Unlimited plan upgrade, and only needed an 18 mile tow home. While they reexplained the policy over and over with the attitude I was trying to get something for nothing.

After speaking with several management people I concluded that the MoCo has their fingers into the insurance so deep that they come out ahead on both ends regardless of what the person paying for the policy wants, or needs.

I cancelled the HOG roadside unlimited assistance plan as a result and now use AAA.

Every year I question why I am renewing. Guess I figure they will give me something special when I renew in 2013 and hit the 50 year milestone.

AAA or AMA?
Bikes are covered by default with the AMA:
"Towing Services Towing services are covered up to 35 miles to the nearest qualified service facility (or to any other location requested by the member of equal distance at no expense to the member). If over 35 miles, the member is only responsible for the overages incurred after the 35-miles coverage

Service Limitations

AMA Roadside Assistance is your safety net for mechanical breakdowns with your motorcycles and other vehicles. Commercial trailers are, however, excluded."
