Who has Lowered their bike with the Monotubes going all the way the 2 ".s
I have lowered my RGU 1" in the back with Ohlins and am wanting to go the distance with the front. Ride quality and handling has to be affected doing this and would like some feed back from one's that have done it.
I did the lowered monotubes and had it lowered only one inch. My mechanic recommended no more than an inch without creating real handling issues and the need to alter the kickstand.
I lowered mine 2 inches in the front and it rides great. I love the ride and the look. I doesn't bottom out or ride bad. It's a bit more firm in a good way.
i have a 2012 RGC and i went with the 2" drop in anticipation to do a 21" wheel. i rode all season last year on the stock 18" wheel with the 2" drop and it was bitchin. no nose dive on braking, handled amazing. it was perfect. only small is is the right side floorboard brackets scrapped a few times but thats mostly cause i have the floorboard extensions. i now have the 21" wheel on but havent rode it. this should get me back to close stock height overall. The look of it lowered is a lot better also.
My mechanic recommended no more than an inch without creating real handling issues and the need to alter the kickstand.
Mine said the same thing. I have it lowered 1" and to be honest I'm not that happy with it. Almost thinking of just going back to stock. Guess after 4+ years I got used to it. I am also running 13" Ohlins for my rear shocks.
