Default Harley or Mustang backrest?

Just looking for opinions here from folks with experience with the two. I'm running the stock seat on my FLHTK and want one or the other.

Cheers

Default Mustang

I bought the Mustang and Like it. I didn't try the Harley, Ive always been happy with Mustang products. Also if you decide to upgrade the seat the mustang seat goes nice with backrest.

I'm a fan of the Mustang, better adjustability than the HD

The first time you go to remove it or put it in you will be glad you got the Mustang. Ask someone who has a Harley one to remove and install it, you'll see the difference.

"Batman" is right on the "Art Of Removing The H.D. Backrest" but once you've done it a few hundred times it's no longer a major pain in the a$$ .... It's just difficult ... But I like mine anyway, it matches the seat!

I would agree. The harley standard backrest is a bit of a pain to adjust. you have to get your hand down in that slot in the saddle and squeeze the spring loaded mounting/adjusting arm and then feel around for the proper holes (three seperate hole adjustments) in the base bracket to get the position you want. If you have Arthritis in your hand it can be a pain, literally. Also if you have other than the stock seat that comes with the Ultra it dosen't lower enough to hit that lower back area. Necessitating cutting the spring loaded mounting arm and then re-welding it, as I have seen others do. Maybe I'll check out the Mustang unit.

I had the POS HD one and have had a Mustang seat on my bike for a couple of years with the HD backrest, got a smokin' deal on a Mustang backrest from a forum member and love the thing, easier to adjust(I can do it on the fly) thinner and looks ten times better.

I have HD on one bike and a Mustang on another. I like the Mustang best for adjusting, removing and installing.
