I want to upgrade the sound on my Ultra but I really do not care about spending $$ on the radio. This is an 02 model with the totally awesome k-set deck. It also has only 4 radio presets. Thing is I hate listening to radio because of all the stupid commercials. I plug my Droid in through the input port and that is what I listen to.
I am thinking about the Fosgate amp lots of folks have good things to say about. This old bike has 8 ohm speakers so I know I will need to replace all 4 of them. Does the amp care about input impedance from the radio? I am not sure how it wires in and if it makes a difference.
Look in the audio section... Soundstream amp and polk speakers seems to be the current hot setup. No one is recommending the fosgate 4 channel amp. The two channel one is good but you will want 4 channels for front and rear speakers. The amp does not care about radio impedance. But the 8 ohm speakers will have to go.
