Hey all, I have an 02' FLHTC with a carb. I installed the Kuryakyn Street Sleeper II air breather kit. After buying and starting the install, I found out I had to buy a Blue grass kit due to having carbs and not fuel injection. Now my question is, has any one here installed this on their carbed bike? How much oil will actually come through the breather bolts and tubes? I can not put the catch tank on due to the air horn. If I just put the 2 hoses up by the tank, is it gonna leave an oily mess?
the breathers equalize pressure between the atmosphere and the crankcase.
umbrella valves in the heads "should" reduce the amount of liquid oil in the vapour.
if you have hoses hanging, you can route them under the bike and install small filters on them- be aware that if they spewk oil in front of your rear tire, that could be interesting
I think I am just going to buy the catch tank and figure a way to install it. When I went with this type of breather, I had on idea I would have to purchase 2 more pieces of gear to make it work. You would think they would just list the whole kit, one for carbs and one for EFI. They are gonna get a stern email from me for sure. I have several of Kuryakyn parts on my bike and have never had this issue.
